On Thursday, the UN General Assembly voted on a resolution that backs the Arab League's plan to expel Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, despite the leader's effort to offer a referendum on a new constitution that could potentially end a single party rule that has spanned more than 50 years. Russia and China have been more than vocal of their opposition that they say is unbalanced and doesn't condemn the armed opposition.
