The funeral of Whitney Houston who passed away so suddenly last week is being held in the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. The 48-year old pop singer died in a bathtub in her hotel room.
She was one of the best selling artists from the 1980s to late 1990s and her sudden death has seen a boost in the sales of her records.
Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder are scheduled to sing at the funeral of Whitney Houston and invitations have been sent out to her ex-husbandas well as Kevin Costner with whom she had co-starred in The Bodyguard.
The proceedings of the funeral would be shown live on US Television and fans have been requested not to try to come to the venue - police have blocked off all roads leading to the church.
The proceedings would also be available on the website of BBC.
The Houston family has agreed to allow only one video camera inside the church.
