Blake Griffin Slam Dunk Contest Preview 2012 [HD]

With so many people across the globe being captivated by Lin-sanity, the NBA decided to add New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin to the festivities for the 2012 All-Star Weekend in Orlando.

On Friday, February 24th, Lin has been given a berth from the NBA to play in the Rising Stars Challenge. That game is played by the best of the NBA first-year and second-year players. This game will have an added twist this season as the teams will be picked playground style by former players Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley instead of having the second-year players going against the rookies.

That's not all. Lin will also be setting up Knicks rookie shooting guard Iman Shumpert in the All-Star Dunk Contest. Shumpert will be going against Houston Rockets small forward Chase Budinger, Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Derrick Williams, and Indiana Pacers small forward Paul George. It is smart for the NBA to capitalize on Lin's popularity after losing many fans due to the lockout that reduced this season from 82 games to 66.
