Bower family

During the day I am employed by Bethel School District. This week this email went out to all staff, but the family still needs more help. Please read their story and watch the video.

Two of our students are in a desperate situation. Their mom just finished treatment for an aggressive form of cancer and their dad needs a kidney transplant to live.

Despite having insurance, the family has to raise funds to cover tens of thousands of dollars in transplant expenses that are not covered by insurance. In addition, the dad is unable to receive a transplant until they have raised a certain percentage of the uncovered costs.

The good news is that there is a very user friendly, web based transplant assistance organization, that will accept donations on the dad's behalf and issue you a tax deductible receipt.

The website is and one can donate anonymously if one prefers. The family then submits claims for reimbursement to the website. Once you are at the website, just enter the name James Bower and it will direct you to his page. Please watch the video, it is both poignant, articulate, and heartwarming.

The video was produced by Scott Heuston, from the band Mad Silence and One Minute for One Life.
