A prison in Honduras burned due to fire killed nearly more than 300 inmates out of 852.
Many injured, escaped with body burns in the jail facility inComayagua (about 75 kilometers north of the capital Tegucigalpa).
The prisoner spokesperson Josue Garcia described it "horrific" as many died from suffocation and burns.
"The majority could be dead, though others could have suffered burns, escaped or survived," said Lucy Marder, chief of forensic medicine for the prosecutor's office, in an interview with the Associated Press.
"We couldn't get them out because we didn't have the keys and couldn't find the guards who had them." added by Garcia.
The investigating team is looking forward that the incident could be intentional from one of the prisoner who set the fire or possible short-circuit.
