One of the first public opinion polls done since the fall of Libya Muammar Gaddafi threw the result that many people want a single strong leader, instead of a more democratic form of government.

The study by researchers from the universities of Oxford and Benghazi suggested that there is a general optimism about the future of Libya and many feel that their life will be much better in a year.

The main concern of respondents was crime and instability. Almost four-fifths of respondents said their interest in politics had increased since the revolution.
