A video which some say proves the existence of Iceland's answer to the Loch Ness Monster has sparked fierce debate in the country.
The footage shows what looks like a creature swimming in the Jokulsa River. It is believed, by many, to be a legendary monster known as the Lagarfljot river worm.
According to legend, it was at first a tiny worm which was placed on a ring of gold to make the gold grow," the website Iceland Review reported.
Some viewers of the amateur footage of the Lagarfljot worm have suggested it is a fake due to the rather mechanised manner in which it swims through the water.
