
14 deaths - 13 Kurdish rebels and a soldier - the provisional clashes in southeastern Turkey. According to the governor of the province of Hakkari, Muammer Türker, a group of PKK separatists opened fire on the night, against a unit 'army near Cukurca, near the border with Iraq, killing one soldier and wounding six others.
"Our forces returned fire and the shooting and 'went on for about an hour and a half. The terrorists fled on the ground but we found the bodies of four of them," said the governor. Other riots occurred in Ilica, in the province of Bingol, where security forces raided a house occupied by members of the PKK. Three of them were arrested while nine were killed, the authorities have announced 'premises.
