Here's a very brief or short study on the lives of the both, and how they were alike. They both were highly favored by their fathers. (Gen. 37:3; Matt. 3:15-17) Also were shepherds to their father's sheep. (Gen. 37:2; John 10:11) Tempted. (Gen. 39:7; Matt 4:1) Sold for silver as slaves. (Gen. 37:38; Matt. 26:15) Bound with chains. (Gen. 39:20; Matt 27:2) Gave forgiveness. (Gen. 45:1-15; Luke 24:34) Saved their nations when God turned what was meant for evil to good. (Gen. 50:20; 1 Cor. 2:7-8) Go and follow these great examples!
