Super Bowl enthusiasts got to witness the exciting encounter between England Patriots (15-3) who took on the New York Giants (12-7) after a very long time. The two teams played against each other in Super Bowl almost four years ago hence it will be a treat to watch.
The game started on Sunday around 6:29 P.M. EST at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN and as expected it started pretty on time. There was a lot of festivity and excitement amongst all those who had come to watch an exciting Super Bowl game. Those who couldn’t make it were glued to their TV screens of laptops as they didn’t want to miss a single minute of the game.
As expected fans were in anticipation of the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show that featured popular stars like, M.I.A. and , The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, and U2. Even though there was a lot of excitement about the game itself and the encounter between England Patriots and New York Giants, fans were equally excited to witness the half time show as it promised a lot of entertainment for them.
Madonna took the biggest stage in the world, the 2012 Super Bowl Halftime Show and there were a lot of expectations from her performance but somehow she wasn’t able to fulfill those. Even though she dressed to kill by wearing a gold headdress, black thigh-high boots, a youthful pleated miniskirt, a black sequined robe and gold cheerleader pom-poms she wasn’t able impress football enthusiasts who had gathered to enjoy the game. People are commenting more about her fashion statement than her performance. Nevertheless she did manage to bring in some oomph but a slight slip up from M.I.A cost them plenty of criticism.
The NFL and NBC ended up apologizing for a middle finger fiasco where MIA ended up showing her middle finger in front of the audience. Brian McCarthy, spokesman for the NFL, which produced Madonna's halftime show, released a statement saying "The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing and we apologize to our fans.
Altogether the encounter between New York Giants the New England Patriots 21-17 emerged to be the biggest TV event of the year.
