Right-Wing Campaign Leads Breast Cancer Charity Komen to Drop Planned Parenthood Funding

The “planned parenthood” efforts are getting a robust response and are being encouraged with full force as is evident from the numerous donations they are receiving from the supporters.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg today pledged $250,000 of his own money to the group to pay for breast cancer screening after Komen yanked its funds.

“Politics have no place in health care,” said Bloomberg.

Seems like, since Komen dropped the helping hand, the flow of donations is growing more healthier as put stated by Planned Parenthood itself that it has seen a surge in donations since the flap became public, and it got a different $250,000 pledge yesterday.

“Breast cancer screening saves lives and hundreds of thousands of women rely on Planned Parenthood for access to care. We should be helping women access that care, not placing barriers in their way” – a nice approach towards the subject matter put forward by Bloomberg.

Still, Planned Parenthood needs about $700,000 to make up for the Komen cuts which was definitely substantial, but Bloomberg did a great job and we can hope that more donations flow in , following the good footsteps of Bloomberg.
