Heavy snow had left approximately 11,000 villagers are trapped in rural areas of Serbia amid a European cold snap which has left over 130 lives.
About six people are reported to of lost their lives in Serbia, with emergency officials voicing their concern for the health of those who are sick and the elderly in particular.
Temperatures are below -30C in some parts of Europe and 63 people have been reported to of lost their lives in Ukraine and 29 in Poland.
In Italy, weather experts reportes saying that it has been the coldest week for 27 years.
Emergency services in Serbia have described the weather the situation as very serious.
Helicopters have been helping move several people to safety, and food and medicines were airlifted to the isolated areas.
Snow began falling in Serbia on 7th of January and has not stopped since. Serbian media reported that their is further snow expected in the upcoming days.
