
20-year-old Hélène Campbell who asked the teen pop sensation Justin Bieber to promote organ donation shared her story with CTV’s Canada AM on January 31. “Hi. My Name is Hélène. I'm 20 years old and I've recently been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. I'm in need of a lung transplant and guys, I need your help,” Campbell launched her campaign on YouTube and other social media sites to aware people about her rare lung disease.
“Hey @justinbieber! I BELIEB you should use that Canadian voice of yours and help save lives like mine#beanorgandonor beadonor.ca #giveblood,” Campbell tweeted to Justin Bieber on January 20. The message was retweeted by Bieber to his 16.5 million Twitter followers.
“You have made a huge impact,not only on my life,but for many others in need of the gift of life now and in the future,” Campbell tweeted two days later after getting thousands response to her campaign.
