Internet auction fetches record price for Belgian Dolce Vita pigeon

An auction on the internet fetched record price 209,000 pounds sterling for a Dolce Vita pigeon – it was in a lot of 245 pigeons and was sold for whopping 1.6 million pounds sterling.

The Dolce Vita breed hen pigeon was bought by a shipping magnate of China – he bought it for breeding purposes.

This sale was a costlier one than that of a Euro Diamond pigeon which had been sold last year in November for 142,000 pounds sterling.
