Rumors started surfacing earlier today that singer and actresswas killed during a film shoot in Austria, but it later turned out that these rumors were completely untrue.
Reba McEntire is the latest celebrity to have fallen victim to celebrity death hoaxes. It was reported earlier today that singer and actress Reba McEntire had died while filming for her upcoming movie. Immediately after this news surfaced, people became concerned and started searching for her Facebook and Twitter pages to get more information. Some people also inquired about Reba McEntire’s well being on her Facebook profile.
The fake news story, which led people to believe that Reba McEntire was dead, read, “Actress Reba Mcentire died while filming a movie in Kitzbühel, Austria early this morning – January 30, 2012.
Preliminary reports from Austrian Police officials indicate that the actress fell more than 100 feet to her death in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm mountains while on-set during the filming of a movie. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12). Additional details and information will be forthcoming.”
In the news report, there were several things which were revealing it to be completely false (and yet people believed it). The news piece claimed that Reba McEntire is an actress, whereas she is known to be a famous singer. In addition to that, currently Reba McEntire does not have any movie under her belt, so there was no way that she would have been filming such a shot to begin with.
The website on which the news report appeared later posted that the story regarding Reba McEntire was actually 100% fabricated. The website is an entertainment website, which posts such stories just for fun.
Later in the day, Reba McEntire made some posts on her Facebook and Twitter accounts, proving that she was very much alive and doing well. She is currently appearing on "Who Do You Think You Are", which is a reality show featuring the family histories of famous stars.
