Carpet Crasher - RuPaul's Drag Race

Monday’s are once again a Drag as “RuPaul’s Drag Race” returns for a fourth season. The 90 minute premiere featured the apocalypse, zombies, and the Mistress of the Dark as the 13 queens compete for the big prize that includes makeup for a year, a trip, and $100,000.

And while some pop stars lip sync for the money, two of the queens will be lip syncing for their lives.

RuPaul promises that season four will be over the top and will be breaking all the rules.

Each of the season four queens makes her entrance into the workroom – Willam, LaShawn Beyond, Jiggly Caliente, Phi Phi O’Hara, Madame Laqueer, Milan, Alisa Summers, Dida Ritz, The Princess, Kenya Michaels, Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, and Latrice Royale. As in seasons past the cast of contestants ranges in age, looks, and backgrounds.

RuPaul’s she mail was filled with disastrous remarks as she hints at the coming challenges. The queens were challenged with the Rupocalypse.

When RuPaul called in the pit crew, they entered with a big box labeled explosives but what jumped out of the box was Shangela! But RuPaul said NO and told the pit crew to take the box out back.

The first challenge was the photo shoot – a toxic shoot with the pit crew spraying them as they spin around. Photographer Mike Ruiz captured the toxic shots. Despite falling down the winner of the photo shoot was Jiggly Calliente.

Ru told the queens to have a good night’s sleep because the next day was going to be truly frightening.

The day began with the queens arriving at a motel scene fir tor a “Psycho” or “Jason” movie. The queens were told to loot their materials from the area for a post apocalypse cultour outfit. They had three minutes to grab whatever they could while not being taken by the zombies who turned out to be queens from season’s past of “Drag Race”.

After returning to the workroom, the girls found more supplies to create their costumes. The workroom got a bit wild and crazy before settling down as the queens worked on their creations.

RuPaul made a visit to the workroom checking on the progress of the queens and making comments and suggestions to the girls.

Returning to the judge’s table were Mike Ruiz, Michelle visage, and Santino Rice; they were joined this week by special guest judge Elvira Mistress of the Dark.

After making their runway walk, RuPaul announced that Willam, Milan, Dida Ritz, Latrice Royale, Madame Laqueen, Phi Phi O’Hara, and Chad Michaels were safe; but she also told them to consider ways to make a more memorable impression next week.

RuPaul said that Sharon Needles, Kenya Michaels, Jiggly Calliente, The Princess, LaShawn Beyond, and Alisa Summers were the best and the worst in the competition.

The judges said LaShawn Beyond was a bit too nervous but were impressed with her costume.

Sharon Needles was Elvira’s kind of ghoul and a hit with the judges.

Elvira said that Jiggly had a great set of legs but her outfit was a bit too much; Michelle called her a hot mess. RuPaul told Jiggly that she had to bring it.

Kenya Michaels was on fire on the runway, but the judges were not impressed with the costume.

Alisa failed to impress the judges with her outfit.

The Princess wore a nautical themed outfit that Michelle called well constructed but too white.

After conferring with her fellow judges RuPaul announced that The Princess, Kenya Michaels, and LaShawn Beyond were all safe; but Jiggly Calliente and Alisa Summers would have to sip sync for their lives; and Sharon Needles won the challenge and earned immunity from elimination next week and a new gown.

The lip sync song for the week was “Toxic” by Britney Spears. After their lip sync performance RuPaul told Alisa to sashay away and was the first person eliminated; but Jiggly was told to chantey you stay.

Next week the queens head into the ring…
