Sasa together a small group of soldiers arrested last Thursday in chief of the armed forcesof Papua New Guinea and for a short period of time held him under house arrest.Demanded the resignation of current Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and the convening of the Parliament in order to normalize the situation in the country.

The revolt was the next installment of the power struggle between O'Neill and the formerPrime Minister Michael SOMAR, who was removed from his post. Before the forcedresignation, SOMAR SASE appointed Commander in Chief of the armed forces. O'Neillhas canceled the appointment.

SOMAR, who was ousted by parliament in August last year when he was abroad fortreatment, says it is still the legitimate head of government.
