UFC On Fox 2: You Didn't Miss Anything

If you did not watch the UFC on Fox 2 event from the United Center in Chicago, then you did not miss anything. Although the three fights did have some intrigue going into tonight, they ended up being rather boring.

In the main event, "Suga" Rashad Evans (22-1-1) dominated with a ho-hum performance to give Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis (9-1) his first loss with a unanimous decision in the light heavyweight division. Although Davis was known for having incredible wrestling credentials, he ended up in the crucifix in three of the five rounds. Evans once again had trouble finishing the fight. Nevertheless, Evans will finally fight Jon "Bones" Jones for the light heavyweight belt in a few months. Finally, the whining and jaw-jacking will be put to an end after they fight.

The co-main event turned out to be sort of a stinker as well as Chael Sonnen (28-11-1) defeated Michael "The Count" Bisping (23-4-0) with a unanimous decision in the middleweight division. With the victory, Sonnen will finally have his rematch with Anderson "The Spider" Silva. However, Sonnen looked rather dull in this fight. He was able to secure takedowns in each round, but Bisping kept the fight close with better striking. British MMA fighters need to learn how to wrestle or they will never win a title in the UFC.

The first match shown on Fox was another middleweight bout between Demian Maia (16-4-0) and Chris "The All-American" Weidman (8-0-0). Weidman took the match on 11 days notice due to an injury. Weidman was able to secure a split decision victory by grabbing takedowns in all three rounds. Maia was not able to use any of his great jiujitsu because he doesn't know how to wrestle. Jiujitsu guys need to learn how to wrestle, too.

Thank you for sharing this sports report. Ultimate Fighting may have a bad night or the fighters had stage fright. You make the call.

That wasn't stage fright. Maia had been in plenty of fights, but he was gassed by the third round. Sonnen wasn't sharp at all due to Bisping being stronger. There was no stage fright with Bisping because the British don't wrestle. Evans has had only one good fight in the past two years. Phil Davis was the only one with stage fright.
