Kate Middleton Voted Hat Person Of The Year

After last year's fantastic 2011 where she made all the headlines with her marriage to Prince William, Kate Middleton starts 2012 by being named Hat Person Of The Year. Although her hats might not get quite as many column inches as her sister Pippa Middleton's rear end, but they never fail to draw looks.

The UK's Daily Telegraph has produced a wonderful slide show of some of Kate's best appearances in a hat. Many of the hats are designed specifically for Kate and cost hundreds of pounds.You can see the slides how here:

It's no real surprise that Kate Middleton is named Hat Person Of The Year, it would have been a surprise if she wasn't. Not just because she does wear a hat well but because of the publicity it brings to the hat industry in these stretched financial times. Kate is currently rumoured to have commissioned designs for new splacist hats from artists involved with UK art movement 'Splacism' - now that should be interesting!

Kate Middleton watchers might like to watch out for any red hats that Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge might wear and remember the old British saying:

"Red hat no knickers"

She wouldnt would she?
