An Air Canada flight 603 from Halifax to Toronto had to be grounded due to the appearance of a cat in the cockpit – the incident occurred while the passengers were boarding and flight was getting ready for takeoff.
It seems the cat named Ripples got free from its carrier and bounded into the cockpit everything out of gear. The frightened cat tried to wedge its way into the avionics bay which was dangerous. Normal coaxing failed to get the cat to come out of its hiding – therefore, experts had to be summoned to remove cockpit panels to get better access to free the feline.
The flight finally took off after a delay of 4-and-half hours.
