Boxing iconand undefeated Floyd Mayweather spoke to each other over the phone early this week to thresh out the details about their possible fight, abs-cbn said.
Pacquiao told ABS-CBN he had spoken with Mayweather and told him "Sabi ko aprub na sa akin ang 50-50, walang problema anytime. Nasa 'yo na 'yun. Maghihintay kami kung OK na sa iyo (I said just give me a 50-50 split in revenue and there would be no problem, anytime. It's up to you. We’ll wait for your answer)."
ESPN said Mayweather told a handful media gathered in Nevada "There is no fight I want more than the Manny Pacquiao fight. I guess he said he agreed to fight. The only thing that is stopping this fight right now, that I truly believe is stopping the fight, is."
In a series of Tweets, Mayweather demanded that Pacquiao should face him on May 5, but Bob Arum said the date would not be ‘economically smart’ because the venue would likely be available only on late May and a temporary stadium would be needed to host the superbout.
As of this writing, Mayweather hasn’t made his reply. /ad
