This is one movie that I was always enjoyed growing up when I was a kid. But until a few days ago I had not seen this movie for years and was forgotten. So when I was on IMDB I noticed this in movie I would like to watch and couldn't believe I forgot about it, so I had decided to watch it last night. So here is my movie review to Steven Spielberg's 1987 movie *Batteries Not Included.
Story Line: A group of tenants in an apartment block are being forced to move out so that it can be demolished. The tenants are reluctant to move, so the developers hire a local gang to 'persuade' them to leave. Fortunately, visiting alien mechanical life-forms come to town. When they befriend the tenants, the aliens use their extraterrestrial abilities to defeat the developers.
My Thoughts: This movie will still be a favorite of mine for a long time. After watching the movie last night I ended up still loving the story to the movie. I think it was a great classic from the 80's that is for sure.
Acting: Hume Cronym plays Frank Riley. You may know him from Cocoon one and two. He was an amazing actor then and was great in this movie too. His age never stopped him from being a great actor.
Jessica Tandy plays Faye Riley. Until her death Hume and Jessica were married. These two played husband and wife in this movie and also in both Cocoon movies. The were the perfect pair for each other, and think that they showed it well on screen.
Elizabeth Peña plays Marisa Esteval. I thought she did good in this movie. Nothing special. Because she really wasn't allot in the movie but did enjoy her character.
Frank McRae plays Harry Noble. I thought his character had a perfect role in the movie. He may not talked much through out the movie but he made his character as important as the rest of the cast.
Bottom Line: I definately suggest seeing this movie. Especially for any age even as young as 6 years old will enjoy this movie. Hope you give this movie a chance for those who hasn't seen it. I give this movie a 7 1/2 out of 10.
