I had a drink with a friend the other day and we came into the topic of winning. Right now in Beijing there are thousands of men and women pushing themselves to the limit. Every single one of them wants to win. It is their dream. They push them to the limit. Outperforming themselves. Put on performances that wow you. It really is amazing and inspiring to see performances such as Usain Bolt's World Record in the finals of 100 meters running. Or Michael Phelps amazing eight gold medals in swimming. The list goes on. The last performance by Michael Phelps truly mark the quote: "Life is a game of inches." You have to fight for every inch and truly want it.

Around the world we have a lot of issues, troubles, not to mention conflicts. Many of which can be resolved by dedication, willingness for change and focus on the real issues, but also via a remarkable fighting spirit. We have to learn to always fight for these inches... Yet performing individually and performing as a group is very, very different. You have to overcome the difference and work as a group to fight for those inches. You have to put faith in your team mates (or fellow citizens) that they will do their part. You have to guide them. You have to fight for their inches as you fight for yours. But... You will have to fight for your inch regardless.

We as a society has now reached a point where we need to realize this. We have to come together as a group despite any of our differences and resolve the issues. "Either we heal now as a team, or we will die as individuals."
