Dakar Rally: Peterhansel Defeat of Roma in the 10th Stage

Nani Roma won the tenth stage victory in Dakar Rally 2012. Inthis third victory, defeating his counterpart in Rome Mini Team,Stephane Peterhansel.

A distance of 377 km from Iquique to Arica in Chile, on Wednesday (1/11/2012), Roma emerge as the best. Spanishnationals racer clocked three hours 59 minutes 57 seconds.

Peterhansel had to settle for second place. 21 seconds recordtime at odds of Rome. The third position is occupied Giniel deVilliers is a time of 4 hours 7 minutes 41 seconds.

These results do not undermine the position of top-rankingPeterhansel in the overall standings with a record total of 28 hours 41 minutes 12 seconds. Rome rose to second place with a difference of 19 minutes 5 seconds. Robby Gordon slipped tothird place with a difference of 19 minutes 51 seconds.

In the bike category, Joan Barreda Bort emerge as the winner ofthe tenth stage with a record time of 4 hours 18 minutes 43 seconds. He beat Marc Coma by a margin of 1 minute 32 seconds.

General standings bike category is still dominated by CyrilDespres who recorded a total of 33 hours 7 minutes 39 seconds.Coma followed in second by a margin of 21 seconds.

Stage-11 to be held on Thursday (01/12/2012) local time by taking the route Arica in Chile to Arequipa in Peru.
