The staff of the National Museum of the Polish city of Wroclaw, discovered a previously unknown work that hung for three days in one of its walls.
It was the work of a student at a local art academy, who decided to hang his own painting of a piece of acacia when staff was unprepared.
The student said he hoped his bold measures to encourage owners of the gallery space to give more exposure to young people.
The painting will be finished with charitable purposes on Sunday.
