MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Wednesday donated P330,000 cash and relief goods for the victims of Tropical Storm "Washi" in Visayas and Mindanao.
This happened after Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Chief Superintendent George T Regis turned-over Wednesday to Police Director Alan Purisima, Chief of the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) the cash representing voluntary donations of QCPDpersonnel and a truck load of assorted relief goods.
It was delivered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City for the victims of typhoon Sendong in Visayas and Mindanao.
Regis said the cash donations and assorted goods like groceries and canned goods, medicines and clothing, came from the personnel of QCPD’s twelve police stations and also the different offices and units at its headquarters in Camp Tomas Karingal.
“This is our way of heeding the call of the PNP leadership, led of course by no less than Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome, to extend our help to our brothers and sisters in the Southern part of the country especially those victims of the recent typhoon Sendong,” Regis added.
QCPD has a total of 2,879 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel at present who voluntarily donated at least one hundred pesos in cash.
