It is a well-known tradition to ring in the New Year with a kiss from a loved one, particularly in New York’s Times Square., who hosted ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with ” made use of the tradition to kiss a hot cop as the clock struck twelve.
39-year-old Jenny McCarthy was one of those celebrities who were on-air correspondents for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" at New York's Times Square.
Last night, as the cameras followed the moves of the reporters and host on the 40th installment of the ABC show, the actress was caught sharing a steamy kiss with a New York City policeman at the stroke of midnight.
Later on, she explained the smooch to Seacrest saying that it is a tradition to share a kiss when the ball drops in Times Square, and “I just happened to be standing with that hot cop. ...nice to meet you!"
Jenny McCarthy then took to Twitter to share the details of her kiss with the hot NYPD cop. "[It] was a G rated kiss (except for my hand squeezing his butt)." And yes, the police officer rated McCarthy's kiss a perfect "10."
Before the show, McCarthy had told a reporter, "Well, I am single. Wink, wink. We'll be there five hours this year so who knows? I might pull out of the crowd and find a cute guy to kiss. I don't know. We'll see."
Earlier in the evening, Jenny McCarthy wrote on Twitter that her resolution for the New Year is to be bold in her dating ventures. “I’m going to #BeBold in 2012 by asking more guys out and not waiting for them to come to me,” the single mother declared.
Jenny McCarthy split from comedian Jim Carrey after about five years of dating in April 2010. Earlier this year, she dated sports agent Paul Krepelka for several months. McCarthy has a son, 9-year-old Evan, with ex-husband John Mallory Asher, a director and actor.
Talking to Access Hollywood in November about her liking in men, Jenny McCarthy said: "I don't care if they have a big nose. I don't care if they're bald. Just really sweet and who's a perfect reflection of who I am now. They have to have a job. I'd like them to at least be able to buy dinners and stuff like that. That is important."
She cited her Chicago upbringing and said "it's tough to find a man's man" in Los Angeles, where she lives.
