Ten years ago a little show by the name of “American Idol” premiered on FOX. The show itself has topped the list of most watched television show numerous times and while there has often been some speculation as to whether the best singer actually won, the show has spawned a number of music artists and chart topping hits.
As 2011 drew to a close, several of those artists – eleven to be exact -, and a judge, have made their way onto a variety of year end best of lists. The one judge, four winners, two runner ups, and four alumni are: Jennifer Lopez, season one winner Kelly Clarkson, season three winner Fantasia, season four winner Carrie Underwood, season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, season nine runner up Crystal Bowersox, season 10 runner up Lauren Alaina, Jennifer Hudson, Josh Gracin, Jason Castro, and Chris Daughtry of Daughtry.
