Opened Helsinki: design city for 2012

With the motto 'Opened Helsinki: I design incorporate to the life', the capital of Finland this prepared one to give beginning to celebration of their great paper like World Capital of the Design in the year that we are points of beginning 2012. This event that calls you, the World Elegance of the Design, includes the presentation of the noted Medal Alvar Aalto and the new design of the World Prize of impact that, as its name it indicates, it recognizes the social impact of the design.

For this celebration, some 300 activities are foreseen, to show up to their city with some topics very appreciated with the great majority of the world like they are health, environment, nature, graphic arts, trips, education, technology, economy, fashion and, I not eat, architecture of interiors. They will have ninety exhibitions; this foreseen the event 'Finish Design 1945-1947, ' where we will be shown up the increment of the design in Finland and the impact in the national identity after Second World War; there will also be an elegance of prizes the 'World Design Elegance', in inaugural this elegance of the delivery of noted prizes like the 'Alvar Aalto Medal' or the new one 'World Design Impact Prize', in recognition to the social impact of the design; The events include the Week of Design of Helsinki, as well as monthly forums, and more than 90 exhibitions that embrace many aspects of the art and of the design.

With this recognition to Helsinki is rewarded having known how to use the design like an instrument to be reinvented and to improve their lifestyle so much social as culturally.

The World Capital of the Design is a good platform to learn and to share the design solutions, and to promote positive solutions of face to the future. The initiative of the World Capital of the Design was born in 1957 of the hand of Icsid (of the initials in English International Council of Societies of Indutries Design).
