Focus: The Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian Uprising

In an official statement, the Muslim Brotherhood have been offered to the Christian community to protect the churches in Egypt this year end, when the first anniversary of an Islamist attack in Alexandria where they were murdered twenty faithful.

According to all polls, the Brotherhood will be the next most popular political force in Egyptian legislative elections to be concluded next month. If the military junta that transition guardianship consent, the Islamic organization will be able to run the new constitutional process and control the future cabinet.

The propaganda movement of the Brothers for the Copts want to emphasize the breakdown of that organization with violent Islamist groups. "We are prepared to cooperate with the authorities and form an oversight committee and neighborhood popular with Muslim Brotherhood to assist in the protection of churches', has said the Brotherhood. However, the offer of protection to Christians, ten percent of Egypt's population, subjected to many forms of discrimination, also highlights the high degree of mistrust of the population to public security forces.
