Over 5,500 artifacts salvaged from the Titanic will go under hammer at a New York auction. The auction will take place on April 15, 2012, the 100th anniversary of Titanic's sinking in the Atlantic. The collections include fine china, ship fittings and portions of hull, reported the MSNBC. Reputed New York City based auction house Guernsey's is chosen to handle the auction.

However no reserve price has been set yet. "We expect to identify a buyer capable of serving as a proper steward of the collection and the wreck site," the Yahoo News quoted RMS Titanic's president Christopher Davino as saying in the filing.
