A loud blast in the biggest city of Myanmar Yangon happened very early in the morning today. Initial report made 50 death but police recently announced that only 17 fatalities happened and 80 injured.
The blast happened in a chemical storage warehouse in the industrial district of Yangon. The loud blast was heard and felt in eastern and central Yangon. The chemical part in the scene triggered the soaring fire in the area.
The police report is still unavailable with the cause of the disaster, "There are many casualties. We are not in a place to give you further information. We are still looking into it," a second police officer from Mingalar Taungnyunt Township Police Station told Reuters.
Myanmar is common to bomb blast due to conflict between the rebellion ofethnic group and the government. On December 21 a woman died due to bomb explosion near the public toilet along Yangon University.
