Danny Gokey gets engaged to Leyicet Peralta

Daniel Jay, famously known as Danny Gokey, is engaged to his girlfriend, Leyicet Peralta.

Danny Gokey revealed the news on the website of his charity he established in memory of his late wife, Sophia Martinez.

It’s a good time for Danny Gokey to get engaged; he’s just turned 31 and his country music singing career is also doing well.

Danny Gokey had a pretty heart-wrenching story that he announced when he came to “American Idol” as a contestant and most people also sympathized with him for this reason. He lost his wife during a heart surgery of hers. This was a huge loss for him and left a very deep impact on his personality as well as life. He tried to move on, but it became a daunting task because he was madly in love with her.

Last year, Danny Gokey openly talked about his personal life and said that he’s trying to move on. In fact his statement said, "I feel very lucky of the progression I've made in the last year and a half” This was a positive development.

He also wrote a thank you message on the website of his charity, Sophia's Heart Foundation. In the message, he said, "We are thankful for so many of the blessings God has given us. It is our desire to see homeless children and families be kept together and lifted back on their feet through the help of Sophia's Heart. We love and appreciate you all."

Danny Gokey and Peralta have planned to get married in late January and requested that wedding guests contribute to Sophia's Heart Foundation as gifts. The message posted on the website reads, "He is thrilled to have found Leyicet, who also shares his passion and desire to help children and families in need. Accordingly, Danny & Leyicet have requested to their wedding guests that all gifts be in the form of a donation to Sophia's Heart."

Hearsay says that he is planning on getting married to her in March.
