A 9-year-old girl who was reported missing on Saturday was finally found but unfortunately she was found dead.
Authorities found the 9-year-old Indiana girl who was reported missing just a day before Christmas. The missing girl was found dead and a family friend has been charged for the murder of the 9-year-old girl. According to Allen County sheriff’s spokesman Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, the investigators found the body of the 9-year-old girl named Aliahna Lemmon in the county, but the exact location of where her body was found is not being disclosed.
The man who is now being charged for the murder of Aliahna Lemmon is the family’s own 39-year-old friend by the name of Mike Plumadore. According to the details provided, Mike was charged with the responsibility of looking after Aliahna and her sisters before she was reported missing. Initially it was not clear how Aliahna Lemmon had gone missing, but after some suspicions arose, the police carried out detailed investigations and it was later found out that Mile Plumadore is being charged for the murder. Plumadore was "interviewed by police and taken into custody at 9 p.m. and charged with murder”, according to a press release.
Aliahna Lemmon used to live with her parents and two other siblings at the rundown mobile home park in Fort Wayne. That area is known to have a number of sex offenders and out of the two dozen homes which are located there, there are 15 registered sex offenders. Even though Mike Plumadore is not a registered sex offender in that area, he has a criminal record in Florida and North Carolina that includes convictions for trespassing and assault.
A big search team was launched for Aliahna on Saturday but she could not be found anywhere. On Sunday the search party reduced considerably in size due to Christmas and then on Monday her body was found by the police. "Children don't just walk away during Christmastime," Aliahna's step-grandfather, David Story, said Monday afternoon.
According to the details provided by Aliahna’s family, she and her other two sisters were staying with Mike Plumadore as Aliahna’s mother, Tarah Souders, was down with influenza and their father worked during the night and slept through the day. According to Souders, Aliahna had vision and hearing problems and she was also suffering from attention deficit disorder and emotional problems.
When initially Plumadore was investigated, he said that he left the tree girls and went to a gas station. When he came back the three of them were at home and safe but when he later woke up after sleeping for some time then Aliahna was gone and he thought her mother must have taken her.
Mike Plumadore is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
