According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) website, at 2:00AM today, the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 60KM Southeast of Zamboanga City (6.5°N, 122.5°E). Tail-end of a cold front affecting Visayas and Mindanao. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Visayas and Mindanao and will be widespread over Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Camiguin, Surigao, Misamis, Agusan, Davao, and Compostela Valley.
While National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said heavy rains have been observed for at least six hours in parts of eastern Mindanao that includes San Francisco in Agusan del Sur, as well as in the cities of Hinatuan and Surigao.
Residents living along the river banks and low-lying areas and near mountain slopes are advised to stay alert for flooding and landslides.
