A UPS driver has been terminated from his job after a surveillance camera recorded him throwing a package in an irresponsible manner. As the workload has increased greatly due to Christmas, courier workers have been reported in a number of cases when they did not perform their duty with proper attention.
Natalie Godwin, who is a representative of the company, told that the driver had been fired from his job because that kind of behavior is not allowed by the company’s work ethics. “We don’t tolerate such conduct, and yes he was fired,” Natalie said about the driver.
The issue got highlighted even more as the video was shared widely on the internet. Everyone is criticizing the courier service for the misconduct.
A similar incident was observed a few days earlier when a Fed Ex delivery person was caught by a camera throwing the package on the fence instead of properly handing it over to the recipient. The package was a computer monitor that got damaged because of mishandling. The recipient complained about this on the internet.
"The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate. Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken," the recipient said.
Fed Ex provided the clarification about the complaint in their message, saying, "The situation has now been resolved to the customer's satisfaction, and we are handling the employee according to our disciplinary policies...While we continue to be surprised about the behavior shown, we know this is an aberration and is not reflective of the outstanding FedEx customer service that makes us proud around the world."
The UPS delivery service is reported to have caused delays in service and is attributing the delays to bad weather. However, the customers are not accepting the excuses of bad weather and are annoyed about the service.
People eagerly wait for their Christmas presents and such issues with delivery services are understandably spoiling their celebrations. They are not getting their parcels in time and therefore giving out negative remarks for courier services.
