29-year-oldhas been released after spending hours in prison for scuffling with boyfriend Sauli Koskinen outside a gay bar in Helsinki, The Hollywood Reporter said. Finnish Police officials detained Adam Lambert, the "American Idol" runner-up, and Sauli Koskinen, subsequently after the brawl on Thursday and put them behind bars.
According to Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, the two started quarrelling inside Don't Tell Mama (DTM) bar. The bar security reportedly booted them out, but the pair carried on scuffling in the street until onlookers broke them up.
Sofia Ruusila, a former Miss Helsinki who had accompanied them to party at the bar, reportedly made efforts to break up the confrontation, but in the process got mistakenly hit by Adam Lambert.
Police held them for questioning in 4 likely assault offenses. Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen spent several hours in prison before being released Thursday afternoon. According to authorities, no further action is likely because there were no damages. Investigator Juvonen said he set both of the men free on Thursday afternoon after completing his interrogation.
"Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it," Lambert tweeted.
Following the incident, the 26-year-old Finnish reality TV star, Koskinen, - whom Lambert has dated since November 2010 -, came up with a blog in which he referred to the incident like this: "Celebrities are people too and fame is not easy. Love is not always easy either, but it's forever."
The tour was expected to be full of joy for Lambert, who tweeted, “Helsinki is a beautiful city full of beautiful people! Thank you!" in excitement upon arrival in Finland on Wednesday. But, unfortunately, things appear to have worked against the excitement and expectations of the singer.
According to online gossips, Lambert would essentially be in the U.S. to take part on "The X Factor" finale on Thursday. However, following the Finnish incident, there seems no chance of that happening now. Besides, a show representative has reportedly denied the booking.
Sauli Koskinen succeeded at the Finnish adaptation of "Big Brother" in 2007. Moreover, Lambert took second position toon the 8 season of "American Idol". At present, he is working on his second album.
