
It’s the grand finale on “The X Factor”. By the end of the show the inaugural winner will be announced and receive a $5 million recording contract. It was a night of music and special performances by guest stars and contestants.
The show opened with all of the eliminated contestants performing a group singing the “Edge of Glory”; they were joined by the three finalists near the end of the song.
The finalists all performed holiday songs during the show. Each performance was followed by a lengthy video clip of friends and family expressing their support and appreciation for the singer. First up was Melanie Amaro, who has performed songs by Whitney and Maria all season, with a predictable performance – “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey.
Chris Rene gave a beautiful performance of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” accompanied only by a piano – a white grand piano.
Josh Krajcik performed “Please, Come Home for Christmas” by the Eagles.
Teen sensation Justin Bieber performs “The Christmas Song”; he is joined by musical genius and legend Stevie Wonder. Bieber sings “Santa Clause is Coming to Town”; this time he is joined by a group of B-boys and dancers. At the end of the song Bieber calls out Drew, gives her a hug, and they finish the song together.
The third place singer is Chris Rene.
After showing the top five shocking moments of the season, Rachel Crow introduced the winner of “The X Factor” in the United Kingdom Leona Lewis who performed as clips aired giving a recap of the season behind her.
Los Angeles Laker Derrick Fisher introduced his friend 50 Cent who performed “Wait Until Tonight”. “X Factor” rapper Astro and some of the Lakers joined 50 Cent on the stage.
Pitbull and Ne-Yo performed “Give Me Everything” on “The X Factor” stage. Marcus Canty joined the pair in song.
Finalists Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik performed together.
Finally time for the final results between the burrito maker and the girl from Florida who almost didn’t make it on the show.
And the winner is…
Melanie Amaro!!!!!
A very shocked Melanie who was surrounded by family who charged onto the stage. Josh said that he felt amazing and that Melanie deserved the win. Melanie gave an emotional performance - her first performance as “The X Factor” winner.
