A strange large hollow metallic ball with a circumference of 43 inches was found into remote grassland in Namibia. The place is 750 Kilometers away from the capital Windhoek, police forensics director Paul Ludik said.
According to Ludik, Locals had heard several small explosions a few days beforehand. The ball was made of alloy and weighed six kilograms, he added.
It has a rough surface and appears to consist of two halves that were welded together, according to AFP. It was found 18 meters from its landing spot, a hole 33 centimeters deep and 3.8 meters wide.
South Africa has many experiences with such heavy balls drop. Australia and Latin America are also not new to this.
The mystery sphere was discovered in mid-November, but local authorities held off on announcing the find until they could perform a few tests. They determined it poses no danger to the public.
