Tsunami survivors try to conceive again

It is like a fairy tale come true – an 8-year old girl, separated from her parents in the 2004 Tsunami on the day after Christmas, has been reunited with them after nearly seven long years. She can now spend her 2011 Christmas happily.

The girl known as Wati from Ujong Baroh, in West Aceh, had been begging on the streets of the nearby city of Meulaboh. After interrogating her, the staff of the Simpang Pelor café learnt that the name of her grandfather was Ibrahim. That is the only information the 2004 Tsunami child survivor could furnish.

Armed with that the locals made a sincere effort and located the girls family – they recognized her from a scar on her forehead.
