
Former Miss Venezuela Eva Ekvall who was diagnosed of Advanced Breast Cancer in February, 2010; dies in Houston at the age 28 years. The
Caracas, Venezuela-born Eva was 17-year-old when she was crowned in the year 2000. In 2001, Eva again competed and ended up third runner-up while in the Puerto Rico Miss Universe pageant. The death of a known model and small-screen actress occurred on Saturday while in a hospital facility.
According to the details, Eva had been struggling with cruel disease ever since she was first diagnosed with breast cancer’s advanced form in 2010 and her illness was closely followed by countrymen. Her family confirmed the news of her death and informed the media that Eva was hospitalized in Houston for treatment whereby she died on December 17.
The Venezuelan beauty was also known and recognized among millions of her fans as a news anchor on television. Author of a book titled “Fuera de Foco” i.e. ‘Out of Focus,’ Eva had said in an interview last year that the book was all about conveying a message to all; the need for prevention of cruel disease, cancer. Once a lovely and lively Eva described her photos published in the book as ‘hate to see,’ she thought she looked ‘ugly.’
According to a family statement issued on Sunday, the remains of Eva were being cremated this Monday, in Houston and added that on arrival of her remains to her country; a service will be held in Venezuela. Married since 2007, Eva had a daughter with John Fabio Bermudez (a radio producer); the coupled named their daughter Miranda who was born in 2009.
