The draw for Round of 16 or Knock out stages of Champions League was held today at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The draws were conducted by UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino and director of competitions Giorgio Marchetti, assisted by ambassadors for the 2012 finals in Munich and Bucharest.
16 Teams who qualified from the group phase of the Champions League by securing top two positions were in contention for the draw. In the Round of 16, teams from the same group and from the same country cannot play each other.
The 16 Teams in contention for the draw were:
First Place Teams: Bayern Munich (Group A - GER), Inter Milan (Group B - ITA), Benfica (Group C - POR), Real Madrid (Group D - SPA), Chelsea (Group E - ENG), Arsenal (Group F - ENG), APOEL Nicosia (CYP), Barcelona (Group H - SPA).
Second Place Teams: Napoli (Group A - ITA), CSKA Moscow (Group B - RUS), FC Basel (Group C - SUI), Lyon (Group D - FRA), Bayer Leverkusen (Group E - GER), Marseille (Group F - FRA), Zenit-St. Petersburg (Group G - RUS), AC Milan (Group H - ITA).

The current holders of Champions League Barcelona will travel to Germany to face Bayer Leverkusen. While the two surviving English Teams were handed difficult draws against Italian Opposition
