The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said security forces had arrested more than 200 people around the country

At least 27 soldiers loyal to the regime in Damascus have been killed early Thursday during clashes with the Syrian army deserters in the city of Deraa in the south, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The organization, based in the UK, said that the military deserters enfrentraron forces loyal to President Bashar al Assad on two points of their own Deraa and a checkpoint at a crossroads on the outskirts of the city.
