Just when America thought it was finally free of Glenn Beck controversy, he once again stirs the pot of strife, this time by admitting that the Tea Party and their anti-Obama agenda may be rooted in racism.
"If you have a big government progressive, or a big government progressive in Obama, one in Newt Gingrich, one in Obama, ask yourself this, Tea Party: is it about Obama's race? Because that's what it appears to be to me. If you're against him but you're for this guy, it must be about race," Beck said.
Beck's statement should come as no surprise to a country stunned by a two-year Tea Party blockade against anything President Obama suggests, even if it was originally their idea.
Still, Beck is not alone in the suggestion of racism against President Obama.
The Kansas Tea Party Patriot Freedom Alliance called Obama a skunk. "It is half black, half white, and almost everything it does, stinks," according to Talking Points Memo.
With the barrage of angry and divisive rhetoric that has polluted the airwaves against Obama since taking the White House, it is no wonder the country has strangled itself in dysfunction.
Governing in America has become a war between sore losers trying to trip up the winner of the last election and the country's first black president. And as if viewed as a simple distraction, the American people are forced to watch in dismay.
