The Armed Forces of the Philippines has a new Chief of Staff in the person of Lt. Gen. Jessie Dellosa. A graduate of class 1979 in PMA serves as senior military aide to the late president Corazon Aquino. He was the head of the Northern Luzon Command, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division.
Dellosa cited his goals for his leadership: territorial defense, strengthen internal peace and security plan, disaster preparedness and organizational reforms. He will also continue the present stand the country's fight for the rights of Spratlys Island.
President Benigno Aquino believes that Dellosa has the values of integrity, honor and honesty needed to lead the AFP. Dellosa will lead the 130,000-strong Armed Forces of the Philippines.
