Among the winners excel Swedish poet Tomas Traströmer got Nobel Prize for Literature, who "through that condensed and translucent images opens a new road to reality", as he acknowledged the Academy which presents the award.

The poet, translated into over 50 languages , suffered a stroke in 1990 that caused problems in speech and movement difficulties, so this year cannot pronounce the traditional reading of the Nobel Prize for Literature, which on Friday was replaced by a ceremony with music, choir and a recitation of his poems.

Hours earlier three women received the award the Oslo Nobel Prize for Peace: Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, activists Leymah Gbowee, Liberia, and Tawakkul Karman, in Yemen. The three were honored "for their nonviolent struggle for the safety of women and their rights to full participation in the work of building peace," according to the Norwegian Nobel Committee's decision.

Gbowee, which contributed to the war in his country and has worked to increase women's influence in Africa, said it is the first time they have received such recognition and the award will serve to give a more role in the struggle for peace.

At the scene of Konserthuset [Home Concert] in Stockholm, therefore the procession will go after the other ten men who have been awarded the Nobel Prize.

The winners are the American Saul Perlmutter, Adam Riess and Brian Schmidt on Physics, in Chemistry Dan Shechtman, and Americans Thomas Sargent and Christopher Sims in Economics.

The notable absentee is the Nobel Prize for Medicine, Ralph Steinman, who died two days before the announcement of the award but his death was not known until later. So the Academy has decided to retain the award, which is expected to pick up by the scientist's wife, Claudia.

All winners receive a medal and a diploma from the hands of King Charles in Sweden, while in Norway chaired the hearing, the King Harald V and Queen Sonja. The prize also includes a cash prize of 1.1 million euros.

After the ceremony there will be a dinner in which finally the winners will take the floor. Perlmutter is scheduled to claim a prize in Physics, for Chemistry Shechtman, Sargent Hoffman for Medicine and Economics. The Literature prize of Traströme will be taken by his wife, Monica, who is addressed to those present.

The Nobel prizes were created in his will of Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite. Its function is to reward those whose work had been outstanding throughout his life in winning any of the fields. The first ceremony of Nobel Awards held at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1901. The delivery of the same is done by the King of Sweden and, in addition to its prestige, is the delivery of 10 million Swedish crowns (just over one million Euros).

The purpose of this sum is to avoid the economic concerns of the winners so they can better develop their future work.
