"The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" is a fantasy adventure film. It is an action packed movie with superb effects and it has a good storyline.
The film starts off with Dastan, an orphan who is taken in by the King to be his adoptive son. Fifteen years later, Dastan, his two adoptive brothers and their army attack the city of Alamut where, they have been told, they are storing secret weapons. Dastan is successful in defeating Princess Tamina's guard who was in possession of the mythical Dagger of Time. Dastan takes the knife not knowing it holds a power and what it can do. When Princess Tamina is found and captured, she is taken to be wedded to Tus, one of Dastan's brothers.
Of course, this all goes wrong when Dastan gives the King a gift from him and his brothers, which is a cloak. The King puts the cloak around his shoulders, but then it begins to burn his body. In a panic, Dastan and his brothers try to take the cloak off him, but it cannot be removed, as it starts to burn them too. When the King dies, Dastan is blamed and he fleas the castle with Princess Tamina following him. He doesn't understand why she is following him until he uses the mythical Dagger of Time. He realizes that the dagger has a magical power and decides to use it o avenge his father's death by using it again to bring the King back to life.
The film moves on with lots of adventure and courageous moments for Dastan and Princess Tamina. A wonderful, fantasy story for children and adults with some romantic moments in it.
The Special Effects
There were some unique special effects during the film, which gave it color and adventure, making the story more effective. The desert scenes gave the film the effects it needed and it was filmed in 100 degrees of heat according to Moviefone. There were moments when the swirling sand of the desert gave the movie some brilliant shots and visual effects that it needed.

The film was directed by Mike Newell and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is a Walt Disney Picture production with a great cast. It stars IDMB, was invited along with Gemma Arterton for a screen test, but she was forbidden to leave Iran and was arrested at the airport. It, also, stars , as the King's brother named Nazim and Uncle to Dastan and his brothers. Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job playing the part of Dastan. He played the part very well and created the dashing, courageous Dastan as a hero to Princess Tamina. Gemma Arterton equally played her part with very well. The Location of Filming
Mike Newell, the Director chose Morocco for the location for shooting the film. Eight weeks was spent in Morocco making the film and the rest of it was made in Pinewood Studios. Morocco was the perfect location for the film with its extensive desert of sand. Gemma Atherton said that it got progressively hotter as filming went on according to Moviefone.
