China jails Australian businessman for embezzlement

Australian to face court in China

According to the news reports received from China, an Australian businessman Matthew Ng has been sent to jail for 13 years.

Ng is a Chinese-based Auetralian citizen and he was detained by Chinese police in November 2010 in Guangzhou , China. He was charged over embezzlement.

Ng is CEO of a company Et-China which is listed in London but based in Guangzhou, China.

He was sentenced over a dispute between Et-China and a corporation owned by Guangzhou local authorities.

Australian authorities have confirmed the news.
