Barry Morrow, the 51-year-old wanted in connection with the Southport murders of Angela Holgate and her 75-year-old mother, Alice Huyton, has been seen travelling through France. Police have confirmed the sighting and it is thought that Morrow could be heading for Spain.
Morrow was seen in Calais on Saturday according to Merseyside police. This was the same night that his 54-year-old landlady, Angela Holgate and her elderly mother were found dead.
The two women were killed by asphyxiation and Morrow is the prime and at this point the only suspect. Chief Superintendent Nikki Holland, from Merseyside police, said: ‘We want him to return to England to speak to us and tell us everything he knows.’
Police have issued a description of Mr Morrow, who is thought to be an engineer, and are asking the public here, in France and in Spain to be on the look out for him. He is described as white, 5ft 7in, of medium to stocky build with straight, short brown hair that is receding, and blue eyes.
If he is found by police in Europe he will be extradited back to the UK for interview. The two womens' family are said to be devastated by their deaths.
