Ahmedabad India: Monday Dec. 05, 2011, 3rd ODI India vs West Indies was played at Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad. West Indies defeated West Indies by 16 runs in the 3rd ODI match.

Earlier India won the toss but elected to field first. West Indies scored 260/5 runs in 50 overs. West Indies batsman Samuels achieved his 50 and scored 58 runs. West Indies lost their 1st wicket of Simmons at just 2 runs, 2nd at 42 runs, the batsman was Hyatt who scored 20 runs. At 97 runs West Indies batsman Bravo went back to pavillion as retired hurt. West Indies 3rd wicket of Samuels fell down at 122 runs. Samuels was the only batsman who achieved his 50 and scored 58 runs. Next batsman Ramdin lost his wicket at 177 and scored 38 runs. At 181 West Indies Five batsmen went back to pavillion. West Indies 6th wicket partnership was 79 runs. Thus West Indies set a target of 261 runs for Indian victory.

India started their inning to achieve the target. Indian opening pair Patel & Sewag started the inning but when the score reached at just 8 Indian 1st wicket fell down. The batsman was Sewag who couldn't his account. Next batsman Gambhir also went back to pavillion at the same score. Gambhir also couldn't his account. Indian 5 wickets fell down at 84 runs. The last moments of the match was very interesting, India needed 26 runs to win from 24 balls with only one wicket in hand. But India all out at 244 runs and West Indies won the match by 16 runs. West Indies bowler Rampaul took 4 wickets. Now the Five ODI Matches Series is 2-1 position.
